History of the Building

The building, located at Chilpancingo 39, is a masterpiece by architect Francisco Serrano, built in 1946. In this project, Serrano explored and experimented with the compositional trends of the Modern Movement, using stone blocks to cover the structure, along with a volumetry composed of a straight panel finished in a curve that transforms into a series of terraces. The original plans, which clearly show these elements, allow us to appreciate the detailed architectural drawing techniques of that era. The recent renovation in 2023 has kept Serrano’s original vision intact, integrating modernity with the rich heritage of the past.

The renovation process included the restoration of the original stone blocks, the preservation of the building’s unique volumetry, and the maintenance of characteristic elements like the terraces. All this was done with the aim of preserving Francisco Serrano’s original vision, ensuring that guests can enjoy the authenticity and legacy of the building while experiencing the sophistication of timeless design.
